We are actively seeking to appoint a Sales Executive for the Sandman Signature Hotel in Newcastle.

Part of the Sandman Hotel Group, Sandman Signature Newcastle sits in the new hybrid city quarter of Newcastle, surrounded by key attractions such as the iconic Newcastle United Football Club Stadium, China Town, City Centre shopping district and Newcastle University.

Reporting directly to the Group Sales Manager UK&I, as Sales Executive you will be responsible for the account management of existing accounts across corporate, leisure, meetings and events in addition to the development of repeat and new business opportunities. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads
  • Negotiate corporate and preferred rates with a view to achieving and surpassing targets
  • Build and maintain close relationships with our key clients, booker's and agents
  • Organise and host regular "client nights" with key customers
  • Develop customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the specific market segments of the hotel and other Hotels within the Sandman Hotel Group
  • Negotiate room rates/packages with corporate clients
  • Work within current business strategies and recognising potential opportunities
  • Co-operate with other departments in the hotel to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs
  • Attend Sales and Networking events, as required
  • Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the Group Sales Manager and the Hotel General Manager to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads and conversion

  • Experience in a sales role with a proven track record to close a sale
  • Willing to travel inline with the needs of the business
  • Excellent guest relations
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Passion for sales and for achieving targets and objectives
  • Own transportation and valid driver license
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field
