SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure the efficient and smooth running and administration of all activities in the Hotel & Golf Links at night. To work alongside the Night Manager and Night Team and be responsible for all hotel operations during overnight shift hours, focusing on Front Office operations, night audit and hotel safety/security. The Night Manager will assist the Night Manager in all aspects of the department including but not limited to operations, planning, budgeting, staffing and payroll in accordance with hotel policies and procedures. The Night Manager provides leadership and support to all members of the Night Team and enforces Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Link's Operational Standards. The Night Manager ensures the highest standards of guest care and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.
QUALITY STANDARDS
1. To implement and carry out all tasks in accordance with procedures as outlined in the Nights Standards Manual.
2. To have a comprehensive knowledge and actively promote all hotel & golf links facilities.
3. To ensure that all aspects of invoicing, security and cash handling are followed at all times in accordance with the Hotel & Golf Links Policy.
4. To ensure the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness of the Hotel & Golf Links are maintained at night.
5. To carry out all necessary tasks pertaining to Night Audits, including relevant reports and cash procedures.
6. Implement and train all night team members on agreed procedures.
7. Supervise the night team members, ensuring that they carry out all duties assigned to them.
8. To ensure all tasks and checklists are actioned and completed during shift.
9. Deal with all customer queries at the Front Desk, including wake-up calls, taxis & newspapers.
10. To ensure that the Hotel & Golf Links is secure at all times, and safe for guests e.g. that no emergency exits are blocked.
FINANCE
1. Bring any issues to the attention of the Front Office Manager.
2. Oversee invoices/statements as required.
3. Issue Trial Balance, Managers and Guest Ledger reports.
COMMUNICATION
1. To bring customer comments or issues to the attention of your Manager.
2. To maintain effective communications with all other Departments with specific attention to Front Office and Accounts.
3. To ensure that all guests are greeted with a friendly welcome and offered the highest standards of guest care and customer satisfaction throughout their stay.
4. Handle and resolve customer complaints, following through to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction.
5. Communicate with the Night Manager regarding to any issues and all other relevant business.
6. To identify maintenance issues and report accordingly.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. To have full knowledge of and be able to act upon the Hotel & Golf Links Fire and Health and Safety Procedures.
2. To complete all duties and tasks with due care for the Health and Safety of yourself and other employees and guests.
3. To ensure the highest standards of personal presentation whilst wearing the company supplied uniform, in accordance with Department Standards Manual.
4. To report and where necessary take action on incidents, accidents and fire loss or damage.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by a member of the management team.
- Attend meetings.
- Attend Hotel & Golf Links Training.
