Job Duties:
- Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from clients, business partners, and other parties.
- Prepare all necessary forecasts; to work closely with Front Office and Sales to maximize occupancy, rate and revenue.
- Group Management; securing method of payment, building rooming list, confirming meals, baggage, any special requests, monitoring cancelation and release dates.
- Cover breaks at the front desk - responsible for checking guests in and out of the Hotel, issue room keys, pamphlets, discount cards, etc. and answer various questions from guests and arrange transportation for guests.
- Review updated in-house, arrival, and room status reports - verify room types, upgrade VIPs, maximize revenue base rooms
- FIT allotment check and blackout dates
- Rate shops - focus on compression dates
- Sales group review and 10 day group forecast
REQUIEREMENTS:
- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, or a college program in front desk operations or hotel management preferred
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk Preferred
- Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Maestro software packages
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self and others.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- To have full knowledge of and be able to act upon the Hotel & Golf Links Fire and Health and Safety Procedures.
- To complete all duties and tasks with due care for the Health and Safety of yourself and other employees and guests.
- To ensure the highest standards of personal presentation whilst wearing the company approved uniform.
- To report, and where necessary, take action on incidents, accidents, fire, loss or damage.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES
To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the General Manager.
Attend meetings.
Attend Hotel & Golf Links Training.
