About Us:

Over 50 years ago Sandman Hotel Group opened our first location, a quaint Inn located in Smithers, British Columbia, Canada. Since then, we have grown into a truly international company with over 65 locations across Canada, the USA, the UK & Ireland and growing. From those humbling beginnings, Sandman has come a long way.

In 2011, Sandman expanded into the UK with Sandman Signature Newcastle Hotel, situated directly across from St. James' Park and in the building that once held the offices of the prestigious Newcastle Brewery, brewers of Newcastle Brown Ale. This closely followed by London Gatwick, a project designed to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for those travelling through the airport and those staying as leisure guests. In the summer of 2018, we launched the Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa, the groups' flagship property in the UK boasting 218 guest bedrooms, Spa, CHOP restaurant and a specialist whisky bar.

In October 2019, we acquired the stunning Portmarnock Resort, Dublin's only coastal resort - complete with Championship Golf Links, a spa, and award-winning restaurants. In 2022 we continued our expansion with the acquisition of Best Western Sheffield Quays hotel which will undergo a full refurbishment and rebranding in 2023. This year we opened our second property in Scotland, Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel complete with 179 rooms including penthouse suites. Future expansion will occur with the opening of Sandman Signature Edinburgh Airport Hotel in the next few years.

Location: Various Locations UK & Ireland - Must be flexible with location and relocation

Responsibilities:

  • Rotate through different hotel departments to acquire hands-on experience.
  • Collaborate with team members and department heads to understand operations and processes.
  • Participate in training sessions focused on leadership, financial management, guest satisfaction, and more.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to optimise hotel performance.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance your skill set.

Requirements:

  • Hospitality Management degree or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Strong passion for hospitality and a desire to excel in leadership roles.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to relocate to different locations as needed.
